I-70 looks open now in KS but it has been closed for a couple of days west of Colby to the CO line. The link below states I-70 is closed West of Burlington, CO

Par for the course these days unfortunately :( stay safe out there, remember if you think the FS road looks sketchy or you think you shouldn’t try driving up it. Don’t haha unless you want to spend time digging out and not hunting

I'm leaving late tonight from NW Iowa. Going through Nebraska and through Colorado on I80. I appreciate any road/weather updates.
I came from Lamar CO, west on HWY 50 to Pueblo, got on I-25 and was able to make it up through Denver yesterday. Conditions drastically improved just north of Denver.

You shouldn't have any problems coming across I-80. From Cheyenne to Rawlins was smooth sailing yesterday

This storm is supposed to move North so I-80 could be iffy Saturday.
Denver news is showing closures on I-25 South of Pueblo, I-70 east to Kansas is closed but West bound is open.
I-70 in the mountains has some closures too.
Check those side roads on COTRIP, not fun to get stranded in the middle of nowhere.

Sunday is the big break they are saying, mountain roads will get very muddy I'm betting.

Be safe folks !!

Our forecast for I-80 in SE Wyoming is not looking good right now for tomorrow. Snow just started here in Laramie and if it keeps snowing til later Saturday these roads will get real Western real quick. Thankfully no high winds are forecast.

Denver folks are saying this storm will be around through Saturday for them.

MikeD where you headed in Wyoming?

I'm hoping for a heat wave around 0500 lasting until 0530 for my morning dump, then it can do whatever it wants for elk killing time.

I used to hunt with some guys that set up one of these so close to the camp crapper you could barely sit down...it would singe the hair off your knees if it was adjusted any higher than the absolute lowest setting that still allowed some gas to flow. It had to be extreme cold for me to light it because I don't like sweating while I take a dump if I can help it.

What the hell gets through 4 feet of snow? Is that horses or snowmobiles?

The search and rescue team initially tried to ride in on ATVs and their Hummer, but couldn’t get to the hunters because of the snow. They ended up trading in their original vehicles for snowmobiles.
