Need a second choice deer option (there aren't a ton of them...) wondering about 25/26 turf. This won't be a heavily invested hunt in terms of pursuing the whole season but I'd like to get out for 3-4days ideally, probably during O2. Anyone been in the SE corner of 25 before and if so general feedback on the terrain there and any deer impressions? Mainly looking for some decent country to go sit on for a few days and hike/glass and enjoy.

I cant offer the advice on the deer. But I can tell you that in those areas you will have to work hard to get away from the OTC elk hunters (Hunted that general area OTC Elk). That country gets hit hard by elk hunters. Use them to your advantage. That is probably the best advice anyone is going to give you on that area unless someone sends you coordinates to a buck that has 4 broken legs and his nose cut off!

Good luck and please post your results.

Generally I was figuring stay lower down if I go into there as I presumed most of the OTC elk traffic would be higher up. Mainly was looking for input on what the terrain & access were like around there and any general deer impressions as I haven't been in there before (and need to make a tag decision). Likely will be putting in for anterless tag to go after freezer filler (general plan for deer & elk this year, may burn off my CO pronghorn points this year though) so no need for the GPS coordinates to the penned up big buck. ;) If a buck tag makes it to the OTC sell off then I'd likely pick one up "just in case" but more focus on meat in the freezer. I'm thinking the next two years I'll be more distracted with bucks/bulls so looking to shore up the reserve.

I received some useful feedback via PM too about access/general impressions of the area.
