CO 1st Rifle Weather Warning

On the trail or on the road?

Looks like the bridge across the pine on 501a road

I’m just a little south of there in the Farmington, NM area. Lots of rain the past few days. Be careful out there and stay out of the arroyo’s. There’s a reason why they can go from 10 feet to 20 feet deep with no exits.

We had over 1 in of rain in the past 36 hours.

Also just got the first dusting of snow! Looks to feather up from 8000 ft! 1st should be good.

This is all kind of crazy as someone that tracks water. The driest summer in 2 decades and now the wettest Sept/Oct that I can recall.

Hit 7k, but yea, I bet the big log jam up on the trail about 1.5 miles up got blown out. We were just there the weekend before.

I wanted so bad to go up to the switchbacks Saturday afternoon and just listen to the noise of it. But my good judgment got the better of me. I’m wondering if the bridges have survived unscathed.

Radar looked like Pagosa area was really getting the shit today. I had some thunderstorms roll in right at dark.

I was wondering about piedra Rd. Glad I thought better of it.
