CNC Machinist Help

I have a little project I need help with if someone runs a CNC machine. It need a custom plate made for a Walther Q5 Match Steel Frame. It's a competition gun and I need a 1913(picatinny) plate made so I can mount a specific optic on it. No one makes this plate but it has been done. In fact the Army Marskamanship Unit has done this with great success. I'm hoping someone might take some interest. Please let me know.

Not sure if it helps, but pic rail material is sold by the foot....if you can make it work.

In modern manufacturing most people who run a CNC machine dont program it. If you find that shop who does it will cost you a premium. Most charge a minimum setup fee which will cost a lot.

Find a local reputable gunsmith with some manual machines, he might be able to modify and cut some pic stock down for a decent price.

You should post some pictures of what you are after. Are you wanting a pic rail at the same location as say a red dot mount? If so it might be fairly simple to take an existing adapter plate and bolt and pin a pic rail to it.

I'm a CNC lathe machinist. First thing you want to do is make a drawing with dimensions, or better yet find the original manufactures drawing and email it around to shops and see if someone has the time to do it. If its just one part you dont need a CNC it can probably just be done with a mill. If you want to make multiples then yeah depending on the qty a CNC would be beneficial.

I run a CNC machine shop but would need to charge you about $200 an hour to redirect any of my machines. Most professional machinists will be too busy as well to take on a small project like this. A home shop will be your best bet.

If you can post up a picture of what you want you might get better feedback.

Is there a market for what you want? You could pay to have some stock made then resell.

Actually no. I just need a miniumum of two made.
