I have a boyds quest stock on the way and need help with piller bedding it or whatever else may be needed to make the barreled action rock solid if anyone has done similar work I could use some advice. The action is a savage axis setup as a LA in 280ai w/ 24" #5 barrel also hopeing to find a 3rnd or flush mag if those are available. If this project is a success it will be my high country pack rifle.

I put my Savage axis .223 in a Boyds last year. purchased the bottom metal and aluminum trigger gaurd from Boyd's as well. I used lamp nipple for pillars and Devcon 10110 to install pillars. Bedded after the pillars set up. the front one was pretty short as the bottom metal made up part of the depth.

The Boyd’s laminate is strong and stable , no need for pillars, just bed and make sure the inletting is well sealed as well as the outside, including the area under the recoil pad
