This is my clothes list so far for SW Colorado at approx. 9000' Tell me what you think, It'll be my first time hunting out west.
Items I have;
Kuiu Attack pants,
Guide vest,
Superdown jacket,
145wt merino t-shirt,
145wt merino long sleeve,
185wt merino zip neck,
230wt merino blend zip neck,
Polartec fleece bottoms,
Merino beanie,
Merino neck gaiter,
230wt merino blend gloves.
Items yet to be determined;
Merino boxers (2 pair),
Merino socks (2 or 3 pair, maybe one set heavier?),
Rain gear (Cabelas space rain or ?),
Boots ( I have pretty tough feet so I was thinking about getting a pair of my work Redwing 877s resoled with a more aggressive sole? Maybe spring for Lowas or Hanwags if they fit right?)
Thanks for any input..... Up next is packs, then tents!

I packed in this year and used Russell apg clothing. I wore the l3 pants and jacket along with a long sleeve Columbia dry wear shirt. I had a fleece beanie along with a LL Bean 850 down sweater. I wore this all week and used the down sweater as needed. I had one pair of light gloves and one pair of heavy mittens. I think I would ditch the vest, t-shirt, polartec bottoms, and neck gaiter unless you are hunting out of a base camp.

What time of year are we talking about? Next Week?

I wish I had the luxury to buy a complete kit all in the same year.... I have 15 years worth of clothing acquired one piece at a time....

my list is a little more simple

Merino Base - Great! Synthetic bottoms slide well inside pants. You can go commando and have less bunching...
Comfortable non-cotton shirt and pants with plenty of pockets
insulating layer or 2. Down is nice, Wool ok, Last year or two soft shell is awesome if combined with insulating vest,
Water/wind proof outer layer- almost anything created in the last 5/10 years will work great. From HH impertech to the latest greatest lightweight raingear.

Good Wool blend socks (Merino if possible) 1 pair per day, carry 1 spare pair
Waterproof gloves 2 pair. rotate when they become wet. Yes. waterproof gloves get wet.
Beanie- 2 you don't mind losing
Premium stormy kromer or merino beanie to cover ears - 1
Neck gaiter, Balacalava or Silk wild rag
Now just manage sweat and wind and rain exposure. Have a plan to warm up and dry out. You will get wet, and cold at some time. Have clothes to wear while drying out your hunting clothes.

Sorry, I'll be going the second week of September. 7-10 day, DIY backpack hunt.

For a pack-in hunt, I'm not carrying in any more clothes than I will actually need. So that means the clothes that I'm wearing in, an insulating layer, rain gear, and an extra pair of liner and boot socks. I have the Super Down Jacket and didn't use it at all this year, however......because it is so lightweight and packable, I will continue to pack it. I really like fleece as an insulating layer during September.

I tested a few pairs of merino socks this year and the clear winner for me was the Smartwool Classics. I also tried the Darn Tough and Lorpen merino socks. The past few years the SW part of the state has seen rain quite often, so do make sure that you pack the rain gear. I have no experience with the Cabela's Rain Space gear.

I hunted second week of September this year, North Park, Colorado on a solo pack-in. I used merino base layers, Sitka Ascent Jacket and Mountain pants as my primary clothing set up. I have a Sierra Designs DriDown jacket that I used late nights/early mornings in camp. I used a Jetstream Lite vest my windbreak, and I only had to pull out the Space Rain gear for a light 30 minute shower on one afternoon. Boots were Kenetrek Harnscrabbles. I also had an extra merino long sleeve shirt for camp/sleeping wear.
