Closest thing to a Huskemaw 5-20x50

Another vote for Zeiss. I have a V4 and a V6. They are top notch.

I have had the first blue diamond Huskys and both Zeiss V4 and V6. They are all very good with the edge going to Zeiss glass. I avoided the marketing hype with the first Huskys and these days you don't hear as much since all the original wild wild west best guys have went different directions.
I can say from personal experience that the Huskys are tough and track well and return to zero. I used these scopes on several back country hunts where the rifle/scope was in a leather scabbard atop a horse during the trips. Anyone who knows horses, knows that no matter how careful you are, they find ways to be rough on equipment. That said these scopes hold up. I have 2 of the newer ones that now have matte finish and a
better zero stop than before. I also think the glass has gotten better. Still cheaper than a Nightforce and quite a bit lighter.

Ill chime is. Take a look at the Nightforce nX8. Its 1.7 oz heavier than the Huskemaw you asked about and comes in First and Second Focal Plan. They make a 2.5-20 and a 4-32.

SWFA should be on the list if you are willing to wait for an unknown amount of time for the desired scope to come in.

The NX8 should be on the short list of scopes to look at.

I had a Huskemaw Blue Diamond and it worked well. I now have the Tactical and it is an even better scope. No issues with the scope so far.

I don't see how the mil-c reticle on the NF could be so busy as to inhibit you any more so than other reticle options - in the field the hash marks don't interfere with getting on game or obscuring your view and are great to measure with or use for holdovers. I hunt with the nx8 and it's a great scope, have shot deer at 620 and 500 yards with it now and I love it - I had a weird crosswind this year and had to account for a margin of error with the wind and having the windage marked in 1/5th increments gave me a lot more confidence in where I put my shot. The difference in 28 oz vs 18 oz or whatever the lighter weight options are also is negligible but that's a debate we don't need to get into, just personal preference. NF also offers a great discount to veterans

I’ve currently have 2 blue diamonds and looking for a third for on my inline. I also have 2 nightforce G7 Gunwerks scopes too. I’ve had a couple of the original husky’s as well. Never had any issues with any of the 5 huskemaws. My buddy’s have the Midas HMR listed above and have tracked spot on for them as well. The only reason I haven’t bought one is I like higher magnification. The huskemaws flat work so just buy a 5-20 and be done.

Another vote for Zeiss. Have a V4 on a 280 AI and it's fantastic at that price point. Considering stepping up to a V6 when I have the coin for another build.

Redhawk occasionally has demos and used models at a discount.

Another good option would be to call Doug at Cameraland and chat with him about the Meopta Optika 6 line. I have only handled them, never mounted and shot but they are building a following as well.

If you're willing to look at an FFP scope, Maven's RS.1 and RS.3 should get a look.

My favorite is Swaro’s 4w. But I’d take a basic plex too. I like clean and simple.

I would agree on the 4w. I like that it only has windage. I never use the NF for elevation. Jus windage

I’ve had 5 huskemaw’s and still own 2 and planning on a 3rd. If it’s like looking thru a coke bottle then flip up the butler creek scope covers, LMAO. I’ve never ever had an issue with one.

I believe even Ryan Avery has posted that those things dial and dont fail. Maybe not the best glass but they have reliable tracking. I'd rather have one then a Leupold or vortex

look at a Leupold VX-5 4-20x52. Please whatever you do, don't waste money on a Huskemaw.

Wondering what you don't like about Huskemaw? I've used one on a couple hunts and liked the scope and was thinking about getting another one.
