Thanks for all replies. Some good ideas.

Harry and David burned me a few years ago with fruit that was past ripe, approaching rotten. They replaced but took them several weeks. Christmas was long past.

I think I might do gift cards to local high end butcher shop.
Another “high end” option would be snake river farms. Although may not be local, they have some of the best waygu beef a person can get. Their pork is also exceptional. A more budget friendly buy from SRF is their choice and prime beef from double R, but honestly your doing yourself a disservice if you buy this vs the American waygu from SRF.

It's local to me ;-). SRF is good stuff.

For another food idea: you can send clams from Taylor Shellfish in Washington. I would be embarrassed to admit how many pounds of their manilla clams I have eaten in my life.

Povitica from Strawberry Hill Baking Co. It's probably unlike anything you've ever had.

Love this idea, will have to remember for next year.

Might be biased as my grandmother made this for me every Christmas as a kid. She was from a neighboring country to Croatia, though, so called it potica.

Black walnut cutting boards, various sizes to choose from, probably around the price of a good basket anymore. Something that will get used for years.

One guy I used to work with bought every lady at the company lingerie one year. Don’t think it was well received, probably would try something else.

Strawberry Hill makes great stuff but they’re proud of it. Get on their mailing/email list to take advantage of special offers. My Croatian/Slavic relative’s called it potica too. Dang, all this talking about potica, I think I might just order me a little treat for Xmas! 😁
