Bought a Christensen Mesa 300wm a few years ago, threw a nightforce on it, and its been a driver ever since. Took it out to the range a few months ago and it was good, again yesterday to confirm everything before my Mule Deer trip I leave for 2 weeks from today. Everything was great, until it wasnt at the very end of the day. Started throwing shots every which direction. Turns out I must've lost an action screw at some point during the day. I dont know how. I contact Christensen and they say 2-3 week shipping time for any warranty/repair parts. Its not available for purchase through them or any other dealer I can find online or in the area. Dealer I purchased the rifle from cant help. You guys know more about this than I do, can I simply find the closest match at the local hardware store and make that work if Christensen doesnt get the screw to me in time? Anybody know of a decent Christensen parts dealer that'll ship parts? Thanks!

The mesa is a Rem700 clone so it should be the same action, I would think any Remington front action screw should work fine unless the stock's screw hole is drastically different. I would recommend finding a standard rem700 front action screw and if you need to use some washers as spacers as an emergency fix until the front screw arrives from Christensen. Make sure to shoot it and see if it groups again and is still n zero.

JA outdoors sells a lot of Christensen stuff, but they also have Remington 700 screws. Things I’ve ordered from them get shipped pronto. I’d definitely call them.

the first thing the gunsmith tried was a Rem700 screw. Apparently that was a little too short compared to what the Christensen needed.

I'll be giving them a call, thank you!!

Brownells sells extra long Remington action screws. They were intended for aftermarket stocks or when bedding thickness added up to where the original screws were a little short. You can shorten as needed.

Called Christensen back and they made it sound like they'd be able to ship out the screw I needed first thing on Monday. Overnight shipping is a no but they were hoping they could get approval for 2 day shipping. They also gave my exact dimensions of the screw I needed. Appreciated their help.
Then called Brownells and it sounds like they've got a screw within 0.01" of what I need. I'm gonna go ahead an assume that'd be good enough in a pinch. Put my order in for a little added insurance in case Christensens process slows.

Thank you for all your help!
