I'm considering chopping down a windage turret on my SWFA. Does anyone have a video showing how they did this or instructions?

I pulled the windage turret on mine and cut the brass stem flush with the scope housing. After cutting it flush, I cut a small groove in the end of the stem so that I could adjust windage with a coin or screwdriver. Then used a furniture leg end as a cover.

What did you use to cut the stem down? Any pics of the stem itself you can share?

Mtnboomer done it years ago like pictured above. Worst case scenario is your scope fails and you lost 250-300 bucks. Lots of guys bet that on ball games every week. I don’t and I haven’t chopped my scopes but some do haha.

How ridiculous. SWFA has cranium wedged in rectum.
Why? Don’t like it, don’t buy. Like it, buy. I don’t see the issue but I’ve never been accused of being the sharpest tool in the shed. The turret length on SWFA scopes really doesn’t bother me, but that’s me.

The bolt handle on my CZ 457 is hitting the windage turret, so I was looking for a fix. I could do higher rings, but then have to build up the comb. I may just pull the turret off without modifying the stem and see if that works.
