I’d probaly stick with 20” since you’re running a brake. If you had a can I’d say 18”. I will say running an 18” 300wsm I’d get a brake thats not angled back to far rearward. Doesn’t have to be a 90* but not much more than that. Running the most efficient brakes that start to angle back a lot like my terminator t3 on my 30sm gave me a headache within 10shots shooting under cover with double hearing protection. Switching to a Ti pro 3 fixed that and the rearward blast was reduced quite a bit. I could shoot it all day but a slightly less aggressive brake design would be better for blast imo and is worth the slight gain in recoil.

Just to be clear I never really even noticed the reward blast or headaches using the terminator brake on 24-26” barrels to much. In your wsm With 6 inches less barrel to burn powder and the brake being that much closer to your head the effect will be more dramatic than it is currently in a 24” Bbl. But not trying to scare you away from it, I ran several 16-20” guns before I had suppressors. I have an apa, good brakes but I haven’t tried it on my 30SM.
