Chest rig contents.

Sheesh, I’m glad *somebody* said “tourniquet.” You don’t want it buried in your backpack if you ever need it.

You… you guys… are carrying tourniquets, right?
I run a marsupial down under pouch and have a basic 1st aid kit in there for bad cuts. Figured my chest pack would probably be closest to me if I had a broadhead accident or something
RATS tourniquet

Mine is similar but also some 1.2mm dyneema cord. About 50' and chapstick with electrical tape wrapped around it.
I like the chapstick with tape around it. I’ll have to use that one. I keep tape with me, but I am way more likely to lose tape than I am my chapstick. Can’t go without it in cold dry air.

RF Binos
Extra shells or Muzzle loader speed loads if season
Capper for Muzzle loader - if season
Loader starter for MZ - if season
InReach
Phone
Fire starter kit
Initial first aid kit with Rat TQ
Arnica Montana pellets
Scratch Labs energy chews and other snacks totaling about 500cals.
Scratch Labs drink packets
Small amount of flagging tape
Petzl Elight
Mouth reeds
2 chemlights
Whistle
Pistol

-Bino’s obviously but my sunglasses will fit just above them if they’re not on my face/head.
-range finder
-little pocket below is where I keep 4-5 extra bullets. I tape mine together so they don’t make noise. Someone told me I shouldn’t do this because of the adhesive. 🤷🏽‍♂️ Works for me. Also a spare set of batteries for my headlamp. Seems to always die at the most inconvenient times. They say you pack your fears. I always have a set in my pack, and a set in my bino harness. I guess I’m afraid of the dark?! 🤷🏽‍♂️
-little pocket on the right is my head lamp
-little pocket on the left is my inreach
-tag pocket in the back has my tags, emergency 💩 paper, in an old zyn can I keep ear plugs and a bag up hair tie. I have long hair (don’t care) and I busted a hair tie once on a bear hunt, so now I carry a spare.

Light fixed blade Victorinox knife in homemade kydex sheath.

3 extra rounds

Which knife is this? I have the lamb skinner but it’s too bulky for a chest rig.

How do you stow the 3 extra rounds?

Pictures would be great. I’d also like to see your homemade sheath if you okay sharing.

What does everybody keep in their chest rig/bino harness? I like to have mine setup with the basic gear I need when hunting. That way if I am separated from my pack on a stalk, or just need access to something quick, it’s right there. Here’s mine.

Binoculars
Rangefinder
Headlamp
Windchecker
License and tags
Predator call (season specific)
Main knife
Lighter
Firestarers
Chapstick
Whistle
Earplugs
Lens cloth

I will also normally keep 4 or 5 extra shells of whatever gun I’m shooting in there.

This is the exact same stuff I carry minus the whistle and I think I might add one in now. Excellent idea.

Remind me of this thread at the end of this season. I've made some fairly significant changes to my setup for this season, so I'm not sure what I'd want to recommend at this point. I will add a couple of things I haven't seen yet.

I've attached the FHF MOLLE Muffs to the bottom of my chest rig using the buckles linked below. Those worked perfectly. I don't know why FHF doesn't sell it as an option.

I've picked up the new Gunfighters Inc Bino-Link Holster for my xdm 45/10mm. I'm looking to pick up a 3.8" 10mm before this season otherwise I'll run my 3.8" 45 in the same holster.

Its just a $8 victorinox paring knife from Amazon. Nice backup knife. I keep it in the side pocket with the RATS tourniquet. Smoke on the other side . Extra rounds and tags in the front zipper pouch just stuffed in there.

Sheath was a super quick clamp shell style i made out of kydex.
