Been really liking this little knife that I first heard about on Tundra Talk. For $30 and 1.5 oz it’s a damn good value proposition when compared to similar weight replaceable blade knives. I’ve skinned several beavers, a few dozen ducks and grouse, and a grizzly with it so far and don’t have any complaints. Frankly, I am surprised they don’t charge more for it.

I bought this cheap Stanley pot one year and it became a staple in camp. The plastic tab for the lid melted off but a metal paper clip serves the same purpose. Toss the two green cups it comes with and add a 450ml titanium snow rock cup and it fits like a glove. We take this pot and abuse it. It goes straight into the flames of camp fires to boil water and make grouse soups. The pot alone weighs 7.8 ounces. Not bad for a $25 pot.

An amazing headlamp for the money! Short press takes you to last used white light, long press takes you to last used red…. Which gets ridiculously bright for a red led!

$14 right now and if ya get two, shipping is free!

Thanks for sharing, I picked up two of them!

Have two of these. Great little lights and for $16 they come with a battery! I'll be buying a few more as gifts.

I have not done any testing and will try to check… I did leave mine hanging on a tree on medium red as a marker for a friend yesterday… it was on for 6 hours and still plenty bright when we went back for it.

Didn't see this mentioned anywhere but maybe I missed it.

Trioxane for fire starter. Pretty cheap on ebay and at local milsurp stores. Works every time and only a tiny piece is needed for a fire. The bars weigh very little and one bar is enough for a lot of fires.

It’s probably in here somewhere but what about cheap jackets that are good for hunting?
I think you should specify a bit more. Do you want a mid-weight jacket that blocks wind, but isn't too hot for when you're hiking? Do you want a rain jacket? Do you want a puffy jacket for glassing and long sits?

I’m a deer hunter in north arkansas tomorrow Is opening day for rifle and it’s going to be 52 for the low and then later in the year it could be 5 when I’m hunting almost exclusively sitting in a box blind or stand in the wind.

For this scenario, I recommend a waterproof shell jacket and insulated inner jacket/liner. Something like this would be good down to about freezing:

But below freezing, you'll probably want to add a puffy jacket below the shell too, for extra warmth. There won't be a single jacket that is comfortable through that entire range.

Finally got to the end of the thread. Here's my advice:

Go check out your local military surplus store and just shop around. Lots of good clothes, packs, and gear for cheap. Especially if you use a pack with MOLLE webbing, you can get an awesome belt pouch for <$20 that would cost you $40+ from Kifaru. Lots of different size pouches for different uses. My favorite is the "Gas Mask Accessory Pouch" which I use as a belt pouch for snacks, pocket knife, etc.

Nice! I picked up a few of those knives. Great "quick gift" for buddies that helped with packouts.

Leofoto made a direct knockoff of anvil for about half price that worked just like the anvil. Can still find them on ebay
One thing to note about MANY of the suggestions in this thread - if you come across an item on Amazon from some weird brand of random letters, with a product that looks very similar to something name brand but for half the price, it is probably counterfeit or defect. There is a lot of "3rd shift" manufacturing going on overseas, where they make a big name brand thing from 4am-10pm and then they send the quality guys and the main workers home but keep running the line all night with lower quality materials and no QC. Or, a "bad batch" of something winds up on Amazon/eBay. By buying these products, you are contributing to bad foreign actors (sometimes blatantly criminal) undermining US companies.
Proceed with caution.
