I like the Guide Pro Pants but the Guide Pro Work Pants are a step up IMO and the color selection is also better IMO. The very best waist band I've found.

They look like they have all of the boxes checked for me except price. I can almost buy 4 Wrangler stretch pants for the same price. The Wranglers have worked exceedingly well for me for years now. Same lycra stretch %.

What do the Guide Pro work pants offer for the substantial price difference I'd be paying between the two?

Not sure how well it works, but its cheap!
I got one of these from Costco and it does work great! All of the 32 degree stuff is incredible value for the price.

Also, thanks to this thread my pack weight just went up a few lbs so thanks to you all!

I can't speak to the Guide Pro pants specifically, but I'll make a comparison to another brand. I've owned a couple pairs of the cheaper Wranglers as well as a few pairs of Prana Stretch Zion pants. Similar fabric, stretch etc. I'll stick with buying the Prana pants going forward as I personally prefer the fit better. There are also little details like the built in belt, triple stitching in key areas etc. that add up to a better product IMO. Get them on sale for around $50 and I feel like I'm better off. Not everyone will agree with me on the fit as it's a personal preference, but that's my take on it. I'm not sure it carries through with the Guide Pros, but it's a comparison I could make to the much cheaper Wranglers on why you might pay more for a similar pant.

I also have one of these from Costco. I did worry about possibly ripping or snagging the puffy material on something but its held up great. I also have their long underwear and this breathable shirt. Solid thing for the price.

Tool rings from Menards. $1.59. I put them on the hanger handles in the back seat of my truck and in my truck cap. Attach my gun dog leash snaps to them. Allows me to hang my dog leashes instead of laying on the floor or seat. Makes things a lot easier when I am getting dogs in and out of truck.

Alright I'll join in!
The Gerry Performance Hoodie from Costco. Comfy around the house, nice $15 baselayer for hunting
Carlton Calls Elk Diaphragm calls. I can find them for like $3-4 on Amazon. Sound good enough to bring in Elk!
I cut the ends off the Plastic Bats from the dollar store for elk bugles - they work great. I've also used old vacuum hose.
The $7 Walmart poly/spandex camo shirts: https://www.walmart.com/ip/Realtree...rmance-Hunting-Camouflage-Tee-Shirt/592028685
I get buffs/gaiters on amazon for a few bucks. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08JLRBRXH/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Costco Travel Pants. I have the Wranglers so many others have describes and the Costco pants, they perform just about the same.
Silicone wedding ring. After seeing what can happen to fingers when rings get caught on stuff I think these things are a great purchase.

Walmart trash bags (without drawstrings) and Ziplocs as waterproof "compression" bags for non-watercraft packing/transport.

Also, you can get flagging tape for $2. I love using flagging tape for when I'm following a spotty blood trail. Stuff is cheap and useful!

I like wrangler better, i have several of the eddie bauers and all of them have stitching in one place or another that is coming out and i have not worn them that much. Sam’s also has a brand that is a bit thinner for $12 that i wear to work daily.

In my opinion the EB Guide Pros have more room in the seat and legs. The Wranglers are a trimmer fit and are a little tight in the legs when I wear them over a base layer. The Wranglers do seem to be a little tougher fabric. A couple pair of my Wranglers have a metal stud type button instead of a traditional sewn on button and I find that metal stud uncomfortable. I've torn a hole in one pair of my EB Guide Pros and have had the stitching on lower leg pockets fail on 3 pair. EB did replace them for free. I'll also ad that I only buy the EB's when they are on sale for 50% off which seems to be twice a year.

Stream light micro light. Runs off 1 AAA battery, weighs a few ounces, clips on a hat or headband and is super bright. Goes with me everyday. I think they’re like $25-$30

These o-light flashlights are basically the exact same thing (1 AAA) and are 20 bucks retail. I've lost 5 of them over the last 10 years or so...they are excellent.
