Cheap "do all" 22 bullet

Odd man out here but for cheap bulk shooting I like surplus/over run/even pull down 55gr M193.
I was just going to write the same thing. For just practice and not killing stuff, if I want a light bullet I go surplus m193 and the clones. Ammoseek looks to have x-tax for .30 per round. I’m not reloading for that.

Hornady 55 gr SP is one of the cheapest I typically load for bulk shooting. As others have stated though, there's some cheap enough ammo that you can just purchase and go have fun without needing to load.

My favorite is Lapua X-Act, followed by Lapua Long Range and Super Long Range. SK is good too, but their parent company is Lapua. I don't have as much luck with Eley (Club, Match or Tenex) ammo across several rifles. Supposedly, Wolf Match used to be great when it was made in Germany, but it's now made by Eley in England and the sellers are quick to point that out, so take that for what it's worth.

I think OP is talking 223 not 22 LR

Have shot a pile of 55gr-62gr hornady soft points. I like a Vmax as well...Pretty much just stocked up on whatever was on sale. Hard to go wrong with any of them.

A guy can do well buying seconds. Its worth knowing what the name brand stuff sells for though. Midway will sell seconds for more every once in a while lol
