Charge Garmin 600 w/ battery pack?

Anybody find a battery pack with correct output voltage/amperage, or special cable to charge a 600 series garmin (montana)?

Phones are cake but Garmins check voltage to determine USB mode or charging mode. Car charger is 5V 1amp output. My GoogleFoo has been a letdown so far.

Edit; set the interface to "Spanner" mode. It then asks which way to go. Charges like a champ now...

Buy a cheap charger or a cigarette adapter, cut the cord and solder it on the cord that comes with the battery.

Thanks for the link. I went with an Anker 16,000; 5V, variable amperage output.

It won't work...
If you read my post. The Garmin battery need 9v to charge.
Usb 5v is 5v
It doesn't matter how many amp... Amp are how fast it will charge the battery.

Think of it like a car... You can't throw a 6v battery into a 12v system.... Doesn't matter how many cold cranking amps it has the 6v won't work.

It's official the battery above works with the newest Garmin rino.. You just need to make your own cord to attach them...
We bought a cigarette adapter for the Garmin, cut it, then spliced it to the cord from the anker.

The white wire from garmin goes to red from Anker.
outside bare wire goes to the black wire from the Anker

Would you mind posting a pic? I have ZERO understanding of current/amps/volts etc, but feel like I could get it with a visual or two.
Also, just want to confirm that the 650 will not charge off of its USB.
