Changes coming to Colorado?

I'm sure many of you are aware of the survey CPW recently pushed out.

My question is do you believe CPW will actually do anything with that information? If so, what?

Personally, I expect the future to look dramatically different as this could open the door for a major overhaul of the system.

I would like to see the OTC structure either changed dramatically, or go the way of the mule deer and become a draw only system. I doubt they will actually change the PP system but I don't expect a true PP system to continue to work in perpetuity.

What will most likely happen will be changes that negatively impact the system and make everyone's experience worse but that is just my being cynical.

Changes are always "coming".......nothing is static with CPW. Just look at all the recent changes they've made in the last 5 years.
Do you think it will be anything of substance i.e. point system overhaul, or OTC eliminations? I see them making "minor" changes but when state senator Woodward introduced SB21-150, CPW complained of a funding impact, and the bill never committee.

They are already slowly cutting OTC in favor of draw units. Has happened to several units we like to hunt. I have no problem with it either.

As a matter of fact one unit has already had it's archery tag allocation cut in half. You can still draw with no preference, but not with a 2nd choice like we used to. Not good enough to not get a pref point, but good enough for a 2nd choice, although that has gone by the wayside.

What's the value in speculating on what could change?

As the current five-year structure nears it's end, there will certainly be changes recommended and some of them will become policy. That's about all you can be certain of.
