It is typical of the federal government that a bunch of people sitting in offices in Washington, D.C. are going to decide to release these creatures in rural ID and MT over the objections of the people who live there.

I don't really have a position on this either way, but if the feds want to restore someplace to its natural state, they should start with DC. Tear down all the buildings and restore the metaphorical swamp to the actual swamp it started as. It will make nice black bear habitat.
