What do you guys use? My contract is up with Verizon here shortly and I'm tired of paying them tons of money and dealing with their BS.

Going to be used in Wa and Idaho mainly so need something with good coverage. I use my phone a lot of business as well.

I have Verizon now and I'm every bit as fed up with them as you are. I had AT&T and their service was even worse in every way. If anybody has a better option nation wide I'm interested also.

Dang. And here I was going to suggest Verizon. I've never had any trouble with them reception or customer service wise. I had AT&T before, never ever again will I give them 1 red cent.

Guess I'm no help.

Ive also have had issues with verizon but not for a couple years now. Overall i still think they have the best service coverage.

I don't have a problem with the coverage it's the charges and data throttling down that is driving me away. I can't speak for mikes problems but those are mine.

VERIZON !!!!!! Hands down the best service in the back country. Twice as good as the next competitor for remote service. The downfalls of what ever the get you money wise is just something you have to deal with so your phone works well in the back country.

NOt much of an option in this part of MT. I think much of ID is the same way. Verizon or ATT. Verizon easily wins on backcountry coverage around here too.

The data charges suck when you watch every youtube link that comes up on Rokslide...

This is my issue... charging me an extra $30 for my upgrade after two years is just enough so piss me off and want to say "screw you".

Anybody got any info on the Net10 or Boost Mobile cell providers?? Any small companies out there use the same towers as the bigger companies just on a contract deal? Not even sure if that's how it can work...

If you want to go with Sprint I can hook you up, just let me know. We will have the best overall package and coverage shortly. I haven't had signal issues in the backcountry and most that say the did are basing it off our old network. Checkout coverage maps and you"ll we all cover 95% of the same areas.

Also now that we own clearwire there will be a big boon in coverage shortly plus if you don't go through me we also offer a new everything unlimited for life plan for $80.

If our coverage maps cover your area it is worth thinking about. Also roaming is free. I think best o can do through an employee referal is $60 for unlited data, texting, mobile to mobile any networ and roaming. You would be llimited to 500 min for landline calls only. This price may have dropped though since we just had a hugeprice drop so i'll have to check.

Sorry for any crappy spelling, fat fingers.

They charged me $30 to add a data plan to an already existing phone line when I bought my son a galaxy note on top of the $200 for the note . After three years I got the same deal as if I walked in off the street and signed a new contract instead of a two year renewal after three years then a month after I signed a new contract they rewrote my employer discount and added another 5% to my bill. I'm up to $252 a month now. I don't know how much more I will take bufore I buy out the contract and walk. Only my son's phone has a contract so it would only take $300 to walk but I need to find somewhere acceptable to go. I'm hoping Sprint builds their network with the new investors they have. Verizon needs some real competition. AT&T is a lost cause.

Verizon has been the best coverage for me in the mountains, I agree with some of the previous post about charges, they get a little charge happy.

I have Sprint for work and absolutely hate it, worst coverage ever, its just Nextel with a new name. I have the same problems with Sprint wireless.

Interesting, everyone I know that switched from at&t or verizon really liked our service much better but there is a reason we are most improved in customer satisfaction. Not sure if our new network has been turned on in WA yet but it will be soon.

I get all carriers have issues and there are ton of reviews of bad service on them all. The Nextel network was shut off 13 days ago, lights out. Verizon may have more network depth today but not tomorrow when you look at our spectrum vs theirs.

FYI, clearwire is out of Seattle and Sprint now owns their network, things will change shortly.

I also think Sprint Sucks....I have a Sprint phone and it doesn't work at work half the time when downtown near the big buildings, but my verizon works nearly every where.

Unfortunately in this area Verizon kicks everyones ass for service. But they charge you for it. AT&T would be a distant second.

Sounds like it might be best to stick with Verizon out in that area. I"ll get to test out the Sprint service in the panhandle region in a few months.

I just buy a prepaid Verizon cheapy phone if I am worried about my provider's coverage. For $50, I am pretty much covered. My old Blackberry with Sprint service used to give me okay coverage in a "Verizon zone" but my newer droid doesn't seem to pickup signals as strong.

I have felt the same way as all of you. I can't stand spending what we do every month but Verizon seems to have better coverage. I have been tempted to try Virgin mobil to see how it is.

Just a quick FYI... Sprint owns both Virgin and Boost, both of these run on just the Sprint network and do not allow roaming. To get free roaming on other providers networks you have to go with regular Sprint.
