Caved to the "hype" Swarovski owner now

I won't go into much detail, but I tested a set of razors, geovid and el ranges. The ranges are in my kuiu pouch now. Like said earlier, all optics are great, best bang for buck is probably vortex, but I jsut couldn't get over the blurry perimeter of the vortex, and the brightness of the swarovski. The leicas fit my hands the best, bust had a weird blue tint to them. If I shot more long range, I would own the leicas, as being able to download ballistic profiles into the bino would be sweet!

I could've saved maybe $2,000 over the years in decent, but ultimately inferior optics if I'd just bought Swarovski binos and spotter the first go around.

But its good to have a bin full of Steiner and other mid-range optics to hand out when my boys need optics.

Definitely worth the price of admission. I can't wait for season to come in and put them to use.

Nice review to the OP.

It's funny a little since I remember when Swarovski was barely considered one of the big three. It was all Zeiss and Leica. Some hunters in the know or that just really liked the Swaro color transmission used Swarovski's. I think there are many great choices these days. When I was young though I saved my pennies and bought Swarovski 10x42 slc's and used them for 15 years and then sold them for a good chunk of change and upgraded to 10x42 EL Swarovision's. A big upgrade but you'd expect that after so many years of development. My point is if you take the long view and keep your optics the price doesn't hurt so much. Or if you sell and upgrade but stay with quality glass. It's just an investment.

Great review and you're findings were just like mine.

I went into Scheels in Utah and asked for the 10x42 Razor HD and walked to the cashier to pay. The salesman asked if I had ever looked thru the Swaro SLC in the same 10x42...I agreed to give them a try...game over.

You will not be disappointed

Yah I caved to hype too....
Walked on to the car lot intending to buy the Toyota...
But when I test drove that Porsche.... It was game over.

I mean how could I drive that Toyota... When the Porsche handled so much better and faster.
