Cast & Blast with small game

Tell me about a trip where you combine fishing with small game hunting. I've done squirrel hunts just off the lake at Clarks Hill at the SC/GA border.

Tried to do turkey hunting this way but didn't work out as I always seemed to hear a gobble when I was fishing. I felt like I would mess up my turkey hunting by not being ready to move and set up immediately if I was out in the lake in a boat.

We do it in South Dakota. Walleye in the morning then pheasants. October is great jig fishing. Can have a limit of eyes and be in the field by 10 am.

I've taken a flyrod on a Montana bird hunt for the hot days or if I just wanted to give the dogs a rest.

Killed a turkey on a lake last year and had two days of walleye fishing. It was a great trip. Was hoping for two birds, but windy and rainy conditions weren’t great for the turkey hunt. Walleye didn’t seem to mind though.
