I have a 5 arrow TightSpot quiver.

Do you guys carry more arrows along when on week long backpack hunting trips?

I'm new to archery, so this is one of my questions about an archery backpack hunt. Tight spot came out with a 3 arrow quiver, so Is there any reason why I'd still want the 5 arrow model if I'm still going to carry 5+ in my pack? My original thought was just to get the 5 and NOT carry any in the pack.

Also, what is the reason for carrying more than 5 total in the field?

Misses happen and arrows can break. It can be a hell of along ways back to the truck.

I use a 5 arrow Tightspot. 4 broadheads and a judo arrow. I use the judo for a cold shot every morning and for grouse.

I wrap multi-wrap two large rubber bands around the extras and lash them on the outside of the pack for the trip in and out. I carry the broadheads wrapped in extra TP......in my case paper toweling in a ziplock). The extra arrows stay in the tent when I am off hunting for the day. I use a 5 arrow quiver and carry about 4 to 6 extras. Never needed them, but would rather not worry about running out. If you get a chance to shoot a critter with a second or third arrow you don't want the sub-conscious to tell you to "preserve arrows" cause you might run out. They also was the story of a guy in BC on an archery goat hunt that lost most of his arrows out of the bow/quiver that was strapped on his backpack.....out of sight. He ended up shooting a goat with a rifle for lack of arrows. I also like to shoot a judo or field point if there are any suitable targets. This occasionally results in a lost or broken arrow.
