Taste like chicken!I'd start a fire and roast a bald eagle if it meant keeping my family alive in a survival situation.

Nah. He not that smart. He just start super random threads. If you are super smart to assemble a fireless gear set for any and all conditions possible...I would just guess you are super smart enough not to just start random fires and understand when it would be life or death. The fact you have to completely remove all fire starting capabilities and in turn chance forgetting putting them back in your pack at some point....well it conflicts the first 5 words I typed.
Personally my life is more important than maybe starting a wildfire if conditions are such I would need a fire to survive.
I believe I take everything I need without fire in the areas I hunt. I archery hunt all over in CO. I think in my situation I have a fire less gear set. I guess that makes RS members insult me. I am ok with that. A little indication of where we are today is that basically no one else will think twice about breaking any rules. Someone “thinks” they need a fire, they just do it. I just won’t ever think I need a fire.If you are super smart to assemble a fireless gear set for any and all conditions possible...I would just guess you are super smart enough not to just start random fires and understand when it would be life or death. You can think what you want but I don’t pack fire stuff if there is a fire ban. If I am spiking out I need a stove I take a lighter with my stove. But I won’t have that in my day pack if I leave my camp. I can say I have never carried everything everyday for archery. Just never been in a CO unit that was big enough to keep moving everyday. If I dumped my pack right now, I don’t have fire stuff in it. Heading out again tomorrow for the last of the season push. It is snowing here today. So it is gonna be good, fresh snow, and still fire restrictions, so no fire stuff, with snow on the ground.Funny, this guy keeps getting responses. He made 1 dumb comment on the other thread and then doubled and tripled down on it. Now he starts a new thread with the same dumb comments. I call BS on this guy that he has ever gone into the woods 100% incapable of starting a fire. I would like to think NOBODY is that stupid. Or maybe, like he said, he stands alone on that. Personally, I have never started a fire during a fire ban or anytime outside of wet or snowy conditions, but I have always had a means to start a fire in my pack. Look back through my history of posts you see on here and you would see I am an ultralight guy. I make my own pack, tarp, down quilt etc. and now, my 4lb scoped rifle chambered in 6x45. Or my 4.5lb bow if archery hunting. I am gram weenie for sure but I will eat one less cheeseburger or lift weights if my fire starter kit is too heavy. This is literally the dumbest thing I have ever seen on here…..I think.
Taking an ATV in would be predictive of a problem. Were I to find one in a major emergency, I'd gladly use it but taking one where it doesn't belong 'just in case' seems a bridge too far for me.If you are willing to simply have a fire, why not be willing to take an atv back into the woods to save yourself? Why not trespass to make it easier to a road? Why not do whatever? And do you do something full willing to turn yourself in after for any law you broke? Or your assumption is you did it and you didn’t get caught so no harm no foul?
