Carbon Six turn around time

Got shipping notice yesterday for a blank ordered 2/5.

Looks like the wait times are getting shorter. I ordered a prefit on August 10th and just got an email saying it’s complete.

I have 2 Carbon Six barrels and a third on order now. It has been on average about an 7-8 month wait, I usually order then forget it.

I know the guy that works there lmk name ill let you know where its at

Bringing this back up to the top. Wondering what the recent turn around time is? Has anyone recently received their new barrel? When did you order?

I put my order in 12/1/21. They are reaming and threading to my action so I expect to to be a bit longer, but hoping I'm close!

I talked to Gene last week and they stockpiled enough material to not run into the shortage like they saw last year and have been shipping out on schedule 12-14 weeks. I needed one faster than that for a match and paid a $75 rush charge. They quoted me 3-4 weeks, but had it done and out the door in 6 days.

I just got the email my barrel is done. Ordered on 12/26/21. Not too bad, I'm stoked.

I ended up emailing Gene, always very helpful and responsive. Said they are working on Nov barreled actions and would probably be mid April for Dec. I'm pumped and knew it would be longer since they were doing the gunsmithing. Just excited to get it here!

Depends on what you want. I had them do the reaming and put the barrel on my action. If you are just ordering a barrel could be done quite a bit faster. I'd definitely call them and talk to them. You'll probably talk to Gene, he'll give you the info that you need.

Thanks. I would just be ordering the barrel, a smith will be doing the rest. How do these compare to Proof barrels in your opinion?

This will be my first one. All I can comment on is the customer service and so far has been great. There are quite a few people that have them on here and have posted favorable reviews.

I just got the email my barrel is done. Ordered on 12/26/21. Not too bad, I'm stoked.

I ordered mine 2 days after you did, hopefully it'll be done soon too!

I just emailed them about my barrel. Placed my order 1/7/22. They said January orders will start shipping out 2nd week of may and into June

I ordered my CarbonSix barrel on Mar 15/2024 and got a call in June to tell me they have not even received my blank from McGowen yet. They said they were just now getting to Nov/Dec orders from 2023. I really do not mind the wait as this is my first custom barreI & know businesses and materials have been affected the last few years for certain reasons. All I need is my barrel and my custom 6.5PRC will be complete. Cant wait but will have to wait.
