canon powershot sx710?

is this a good camera to use? been a long time since I had a camera, and looking to get back into taking pictures of my adventures. not wanting to get into the dlsr game yet. mainly for hunting/field photos and using it for digiscopeing with my buddies spotting scope.

talk me out of it or into it? and any other recommendations for good point and shoot cameras

For a P&S camera, it seems that most really like the Olympus TG3 or TG4 or whatever. They are tough and waterproof and work well for hunting adventures.
