Canon G30 case for elk

I have a case for my G30 but would like to cut the space used down to a minimum. Will probably take the lens hood off and leave it at truck or home. I'm basically looking for the sleekest bag that will protect the camera in a pack. If I can't find one, my wife might make me one. Even better would be one that could mount on waist belt of pack in order to be 'quick draw' if needed.
