Didn’t want to hijack an existing thread but here’s my two cents on making canister stoves more fuel efficient in the wind. Flat Cat Gear’s Ocelot Wind screen is a solution I’m going to employ. My main concern is the amount of fuel to carry into the backcountry especially with the effect wind speed has on burn times. Flat Cat crafted the Ocelot to address this issue and have produced a bunch of data from testing to support the conclusion. Their YouTube channel has good videos on the product below.
The only downside is that the triangular piece doesn’t nest inside my 750 ml pot with the 4 oz canister and stove. So I fashioned the foil wrap envelope and foam insert to prevent bending of the tabs.
