With warm clothing that typically means warmth performance vs weight/bulk. Add in warmth performance when wet and/or water resistance and it can get a bit complicated.
If you are doing minimal walking/hiking to a stand then weight/bulk doesnt matter much. And conversely if you are moving, you generally need less insulation.
You absolutely do not have to spend $750 to be warm in regular cold weather(as opposed to extreme). Wool/alpaca is virtually always a great option. It can be a bit expensive but definitely doesnt have to be anywhere near $750 expensive.
