Can y'all be real with me?

Everything has tradeoffs.

With warm clothing that typically means warmth performance vs weight/bulk. Add in warmth performance when wet and/or water resistance and it can get a bit complicated.

If you are doing minimal walking/hiking to a stand then weight/bulk doesnt matter much. And conversely if you are moving, you generally need less insulation.

You absolutely do not have to spend $750 to be warm in regular cold weather(as opposed to extreme). Wool/alpaca is virtually always a great option. It can be a bit expensive but definitely doesnt have to be anywhere near $750 expensive.

There’s a couple technologies that I haven’t seen replicated as well in non-hunting brands—Gore’s Windstopper membrane that Sitka uses. That is worth their price, in my opinion. It’s a game changer because of its versatility and how you can layer it for different applications. The fanatic set basically combines it with insulation and a quiet face—which makes one layer where you might be messing with 3 layers.

The other technology is Kuiu’s Kutana pants - for the weight, nothing out there comes close. If they fit you, they are the most versatile pants out there.

And I think Sitka’s core lightweight hoody (and 120 merino hoody) is unmatched.

All the other layers have many options at better prices, but I would pay the price to get those technologies in my system.

Oversized full side zip insulated coveralls, carry to your stand and then put on over your down puffy or buy one of those insulated body bags. Preferably with a hood.
