Can we legalize suppressors now?

I hope so, but Trump isn't an outdoorsman. Maybe his sons and GOP politicians can influence him to have his administration make a push on this.
The best way to go about this would be to push it as being better for our hearing health, and brain health.

With the amount of vets getting into senate/house, there might be some headway there.

California won't even allow most people to purchase firearms handguns with threaded muzzles.
At this point we shouldn't even feel bad for people that live in California. It just keeps getting worse and worse, if they haven't jumped ship and moved away by now, it's 100% on them. Same with Illinois and New Jersey. New York too to an extent.

Correct. Like I said in the first sentence of the post.
But, a hearing safety item doesn’t need the same regulation as machine guns. And people definitely don’t need to be taxed $200 per device to help protect their hearing, their kids hearing, etc.

Here here!!

We'll see, they had a chance in the first 2 years when Trump was president. They could not get it done. I hope they do it this time around. 4473 is way better than a tax stamp and a year wait.
The Hearing Protection Act was set to be voted on in the House then the Las Vegas shooting happened so Paul Ryan shelved it.
Not saying there was any sort of conspiracy etc etc, but that was as close as we got to having suppressors removed from the NFA. Unfortunate timing on the whole deal.
I think with some of the new SCOTUS rulings, there is a chance suppressors are removed.

Legalize isn’t the right word actually, they are legal in most places, just heavily taxed and regulated.

Seeing how this election is going for both president and congress, what are the chances we see suppressors de-regulated in the next few years?

If suppressors got removed from the NFA, that would be a huge win for health and safety of hunters.

Who is ready to start calling congressman?

We likely only have 2 years with full control of the government so it’s time for an all out blitz. If we don’t do our part and call, email, show up at our representatives offices, the spineless, lazy Republicans will just let the opportunity slip away again.

* Deregulate suppressors like most European countries. They laugh at us spouting about our freedoms when they go buy them over the counter just like any other commodity.

* Deregulate short barrel weapons

* Let all regulations by the 3 letter agencies that have been overturned by the courts die.

* Lock the border down, period. In my dream world we would modernize Ellis Island and crank it back up. Seemed to work well while it was in operation.

* Tune up the VA system and make sure our vets get all the support they need.

I’m sure there plenty more. This is just what popped into my head immediately.

Not everyone is willing to uproot their families, leave family behind, leave good jobs, good climate, and geography. I’d love to leave but my wife does not. The other states don’t want us and honestly can’t blame em. Ca is the greatest state in the country but has the worst politics. It’s a crap shoot. Hopefully things will get so bad in LA and SF that the people are obligated to abandon the bullshit policies they are tied to.

You've made your decision then. You get to deal with the results of that decision. I didn't like the way things were where I was so I moved. Unfortunately the politics can absolutely impact the quality of life. Hopefully you own a home there so when you sell you can make bank and have a good nest egg to start somewhere new.

I would jump through whatever hoops necessary to be able to own a suppressor in Hawai’i. Would be especially nice since we have small units with high hunter numbers.

Just remember Trump has publicly stated that he doesn't like silencers. He also banned bump stocks.
This. It's amazing to me how many 2A advocates, hunters, etc are so quick to ignore that last time Trump was in office he used an executive order to infringe on the 2A (first time that had happened) that only a handful of months ago finally got struck down by the Supreme Court.

To think that Trump 2.0 will do anything favorable for suppressors is laughable.

Obama had hus first 2 years to make big changes and he did nothing. Politicians do not want to fix their talking points.
