Want to order up a T3 for day hunting. When I day hunt it is most often here in CA in very thick brush country hunting hogs. I am frequently crawling around under brush. I do not want a lot sticking up over my shoulders, but I would like some lift as I do end up hauling meat out a lot too. I am 5'10", 5' 11" on a good day. Can I get away with 22" stays, or will they just be too short to be functional and should I go with 24"?

I would go bigger and get the 24" stays if you plan to ever want to haul heavier weights, it will be what gives you the lift to keep the weight off your shoulders. I am 5'3 and have 26" stays in my KU pack...they stick up just a little more over my shoulders, but I have never noticed them getting caught on anything. When the pack out loads get heavy, the extra lift is well worth it.

Im 5'6 and I prefer 24in stays after using them all. I had 26 and I always seemed to smack the back of my head on them.

I also have 22in, in my spike camp. And while I get a little lift, if my torso was any longer, or if im carrying anything over 60lbs in it they do start to sag a bit and put some pressure on my shoulders.

I would suggest 24 if your worried about stuff catching, even then 26 on most guys does not stick out too far.

Don't have a torso measurement on myself but im a pretty average size short guy.
