Camofire = factory seconds?

I've purchased three Sitka gear on camofire, and so far, after very little use, two have failed me. The first is a pair of gloves, the fingertips of which have torn through after being worn after maybe two dozen times. The second is a kelvin jacket which I've worn not more than six times, and the pocket zipper simply ripped right off as I was opening it. I've not owned much Sitka gear, but this is the worst craftsmanship experience I've ever had with any high end gear, and I'm not particularly tough on gear--both pieces ripped apart as I was walking my dog, so in fact saw no real use. I'm trying to figure out what went wrong--whether it's Sitka or whether I should just never buy from camofire again. Anyone else had similar experiences?

If they were seconds then Camofire would put it in the description. I've seen it listed on other items they sell that you are purchasing a factory second or blem.

I always thought it was just last seasons gear, rather than factory seconds, but I don't know for sure. I bought a couple sitka shirts probably three years ago from camofire and they've held up. Not much to fail on a shirt though.

I also have several other pieces of sitka gear that I purchased new that have been great, but neither of the two pieces you describe.

I agree, I've seen other gear on Camofire listed as factory seconds so if yours wasn't listed that way than it wasn't a factory second. I've never owned Sitka so I can't comment on their quality but I wouldn't blame it on Camofire. I buy from them all the time and have never had an issue.

My dad has gone through 2 pairs of Sitka shooters gloves that the fingers split, so it may just be a design issue with the gloves.

I don't think it has anything to do with camofire. I've owned these gloves, not from camofire, and they just aren't built very well. The thin mesh on the side of the fingers fall apart

I've got several Sitka items that are several years old and haven't ever had any craftsmanship issues. But it certainly appears that you have. I don't think this is camofire's fault. I'd let Sitka have the opportunity to make it right and stand behind their product. If they don't, let us know.....hell, let everyone know.

My Sitka stuff has performed well, but if you have a complaint, take it to Sitka, not Camofire.

Agreed. I've got a bunch of Sitka and it's been great, even gloves. I've never had a warrantee issue, but I have called them, and you get a real person who answers the phone. Call them up and they'll take care of you.

I have purchased numerous items from Camofire, and they are all top quality products. I always closely examine everything I buy from them when I receive it to make sure there are no defects, and there have been no problems whatsoever. Their CS is first class also.

Most of the Sitka items i purchased from camofire was custom ordered, not a daily promo. Kendall just had better pricing than everyone else. None of it has failed me and I have some thin gloves that are five seasons old with no signs of wear. May be the luck of the draw but I can promise you this...Kendall is a straight up guy. I wish everyone was as ethical as he is. I would take your complaint directly to Sitka and see what they tell you.
