Calling moose post-rut?

I'm helping a buddy try to fill his bull tag in October (Maine). The season is on the tail end of the rut there, as I understand it. From what I can tell from research, calling can be effective at that point, but not like it is earlier in the season. I'd be grateful for any tips on how to alter calling practices for the period just after the rut. Less cow calling and more light bull calling? Calling for longer periods in each spot? Shorter periods? Any advice is much appreciated! And, we will certainly be focusing a bit more on food sources and doing some still-hunting, but I'd love to have some season-appropriate calling strategies in our pockets, as well. Thanks!
