I've got a spot where bulls are typically cruising and feeding about 50 yards or so onto private ground. I normally go to this spot and just wildlife view elk and try to learn, but I suppose I'll try to shoot one. The boundary between the private and public is not a hard line and there is no barrier (fence, slope break, road, etc) from them coming over.
Do you fellas think these bulls could be curious enough in mid-November in coming into a cow call (or calf call), or at least closing that 50 yard distance while they are feeding? Keep in mind these bulls that I typically see at this location are not monsters, and are probably 2-4 year old bulls.
My initial thoughts is that they'd be curious enough to at least come have a look see. Seems unlikely that they'd spook at the sound of the call, but would I be better off just getting lucky in having them come over on their own? It's rare that they come over on their own, but they do. Thanks.
