Weather dependent...been there, done that. You guys had an amazing hunt. The freaky one is awesome! For California that's like shooting bigfoot riding a unicorn. It doesn't happen here. Congrats!

Got the buck picked up and hung up last night. First time using this taxidermist and I’m pretty happy with how it turned out.

Also, the size difference in the head, ears, etc. between this California mule deer and the Colorado mule deer next to it is staggering. These are not the same species.

Same here. Gotta love the hunting more than the killing or you'll be miserable hunting in CA. Never been an issue for me - I love my heavily armed hikes in CA.

What a great hunt! Couple of really nice bucks! Hunts and experiences in general are always better shared, especially with family.

I've had similar experience with my feet growing. I always wore 13's up until I was about 35 and I suddenly needed a size bigger. Really annoying because it's not as easy always finding size 14's.
