Good luck. Hike, glass, run cameras, don't pass on deer unless it's a doe with fawns. There are plenty of deer in d16, but they're pretty good at not getting killed. You'll become a better hunter for trying though. I had two good chances at deer last year and blew them both.

Same here. Good luck its a lot of glassing and scouting ahead of time. The 2nd half of the season is the best part.

4 years in the "16"and my bow has been taken on a lot of hikes, blown stalks and uncooperative turkeys. I get an AO and A22 each year.

I like mulveymo's comment about does with fawn being a no go. Beginning of the season I will be going for a buck only and on the second half I'll try for a doe if I have no luck.

i personally would like to see deer numbers improve in the 16. Shooting the moms wont do that. With that said you are right you are legal to take a doe. in my opinion all socal hunters are friends as we are a dying breed. good luck on the hunt and keep us posted successful or not!
