I have a 673 in 6.5 RM I'm looking to rebarrel. I really like the rifle and cartridge, but Im finding it harder and harder to find components to reload. Any readily available calibers out there that will require only a barrel or rechamber without modifying the bolt face?

You've got a .532 bolt face in a short action... 300RCM comes to mind as does 6.5 PRC.

For what it's worth- you'd have enough tied up in the rebarrel and chopping up what has the potential to be a collectible rifle you might consider retiring it and getting something different to shoot more.

I'm debating keeping it as an option too, but really enjoy the idea of a semi-custom rifle. I've been looking at the 6.5 prc as an option, but don't know if the magazine length will allow it.

Buy a form and trim die ($50-70.00 )and make your 6.5 from 7mm Rem cases. You might not need to neck ream as the factory chambers have a bit of play. If so the reformed brass might work better than factory new. The 6.5 Rem Mag is a great cartridge.

Could go with a mid bore in 350 Remington mag to... give some rangebut increase frontal and wounding on big critters.

^^^^ This makes the most sense. 6.5RM is a good cartridge and if you can make them from 7RM cases...so much the better. The next time Jamison or Remington makes a run...I'd buy up a 100 and be set for a while.
