FYI. If you’re in the market and on a very low budget. No personal experience. Just sharing as an FYI. If anyone has personal experience with this model, post up.

I had one for 20 years. Mine was a camp trails which Cabelas copied and rebranded(which is what they do). It is OK for light loads. It is not really a comfy belt for long days hunting. It is purely for packouts I think. I loved the big bag that the Alaskan 1 uses and it is the lighter fabric than the crazy heavy crap that all those companies use for their quieter etc bags. It is simple with the big side pockets.

First thing to do with any Cabelas frame is:
1. remove the top bar and throw it out. don't need it, and it is just in the way.
2. take out the bar on the bottom shelf. move the shelf to the bottom and loop it to the bottom with 550 cord permanently. run a strap through the sleave at the top where the bar was, and run it up to a couple buckles at the mid or top of the frame. You now have a nice tight package with a something closer to Kifaru grabit. make this mod to the frame, and go get a couple big dry bags and you are in the woods hunting.
