My dad is looking at getting a new rifle. My brother and I told him to just get a stainless T3x, but he has recently been intrigued by the Christensen Arms Evoke. Does anyone have any experiences with the Evoke, good or bad, and is there is a clear winner between the two? My dad will keep either one as is from the factory.

Had to look up the evoke I had forgotten about those, I want your dad to get the evoke and then report back.

My suggestion would be to just get the tikka like you guys already told him though

I'm curious about the Evoke myself.

Having owned rifles from both brands myself. I'd put my money on the Tikka.

I purchased an Evoke in 22 Creed. It was over 1 MOA with Hornady ELD-M factory ammo. I did like an the features... Hand lapped barrel trigger tech trigger, picatinny bipod mount, decent stock.

I do think the twist rate was too high (1:7) on a 22" barrel, which put the rpm's at 330k on those bullets, and that's getting near their max before they blow up. The LoP is 13.5" from the factory, and that was really short for me. The rifle also did not come with a scope base, and all the accessories aren't available yet either (factory LoP spacers, factory scope base).

I wanted to like the gun, but ultimately ended up just trading it back in after it wouldn't group sub MOA, since I haven't heard guys things about CA customer service... And I just went through a really long warranty repair with a Bergara earlier this year.
