Hey All,

I'm looking at picking up a vortex rifle scope within the next couple weeks. Just wondering if anyone has a favorite place to buy from or a local shop? I have been looking for quite awhile and have basically found the cheapest price off the internet at optics planet. Just wondering if anyone has found a cheaper place or any small store that will price match or get somewhat close. I would rather support a smaller shop then a big online store.

Thanks, JBiggs

Check out a and a optics. They sell refurbished models at a pretty hefty discount. Still have their lifetime warranty. That said, I buy most all my stuff used from Rokslide, snipers hide, or accurate shooter.

You should be able to find a nice vortex scope used if you want to go with that route (which works out great with a warranty like vortex). Camofire also has a great price on the 3-15x42 Razor HD LH G4 reticle which is a great scope that I use on my 308

I git w good deal at Cabela's bargain cave on a refurbished one. I have 2 one I paid full price and the refurbished. Also eBay generally has a coupon every month for 10 or 15%off which is hard to beat. Vortex warranty is great if you ever need it so no need to worry there either.

If you are certain you want a Vortex give Scott at Liberty Optics a call and tell him Doug sent you. He'll take great care of you

+1

There are better scopes than vortex at every price point that have decent warranties(that you may not have to actually use).
Would you mind listing some of those companies? I'm in the same boat and sms just now starting to look into different scope companies.

If you’re at that level I’d buy a nightforce atacr.

I run Vortex Vipers with no issues, but if I was at that price point I'd be looking toward Nightforce, Schmidt and Bender, etc. Bushnell also gets some good reviews in that price range. Google precision rifle blog and you can find some great comparisons among top brands.

Thanks for the input guys! I talked with Doug and he pointed me in a good direction! Thanks again guys!

Hey if youre still looking i have a razor HD 5-20x50 new in box. Its listed in classified but feel free to PM me back if youre interested

I've ran the exact scope you are looking at for 3 seasons of precision rifle matches and haven't had a single issue. I'd also say that approx 70% of the scopes on the line are the Razor HD Gen II 4.5-27, I'm shooting the Border War Rifle Series and a few PRS events.

I have no experience with any other Vortex models, but do not let anyone bullshit you into thinking the Razor HD Gen II is a piece of shit.

I've handled the top models of Athlon and Sig Sauer and no way in hell I'd trade my Razor HD for one.

I wouldn't call it a POS, but for the price you can absolutely do better, as with almost all of the Vortex line.
