Just an FYI, I recently had a package shipped to my office from a non-forum seller. The
package never arrived so I started tracking package. After opening the the shipping case
the shipping company contacted me and stated it was delivered to wrong address. I contacted PP dispute. 6 weeks later shipping company contacted me and said it was delivered to right address and described my front door (probably after they sent the delivery man to find where he delivered package) changing the original story. They said seller didnt require signature and left the $400 dollar fly reel on office front step. PP closed dispute in Seller's favor because they provided proof of delivery.
Friday, after two months the reel was delivered to my office. No explanation, just delivered. Maybe the delivery person was high and remembered which bush he hid the package under? Anyway, remember to ask seller to require a signature and request insurance if you can. Do not rely on PP buyer protection. They will side with seller if proof of delivery from seller is provided.
Not a rant, Seller should have required signature and probably forgot or was not aware of
possible outcome. I should have also requested signature had I been aware of this possibility. Insurance would not have helped either of us if the shipper can lie and say it was delivered. A signature requirement and insurance would have probably been the best solution for more expensive items.
