How are these scopes? Looking at getting a new scope. Was looking at the nightforce but curious about the burris. Also the zeiss v4.

I have the Burris Veracity and the Zeiss V4. The Veracity's are on a 28 Nosler and 300 Win Mag. No issues nice glass, holds zero., dials perfect. Shot my elk at 550 yards spot on and my mule deer at a whopping 100 yards...lol. The Veracity's are first focal plane and the Zeiss are second focal plane.

My boys have the V4's on their 7 mm mags. Shot their elk at 600 and 660 yards last year. No issues with the scope.

Both brands have been hunted hard riding around in trucks and ATVs with no issues.

I lost the front scope cap for the Burris. Emailed them and asked where I could buy one. they sent me a new set. Had an issue with the Zeiss sent it in and had a new scope in a few weeks.

The Burris are first focal plane and the Zeiss second focal plane. I dial for yardage so I don't use the benefits of first focal plane. As I get older I now prefer second focal plane and just got a Zeiss V6 for my new 7 mm mag, sweet, but pricey!

If you can you should look thru both types and see what you like.

I run an XTR 3 on a competition rifle. Seems to work well. I do wonder how it would fair on Forms’s drop test.

I run an XTR Pro on my comp rifle and have had zero complaints. My buddies laugh because its the first scope that's lasted over a year on my rifle without being sent back.

I had an XTR II 5-25 on a comp rifle, I ended up switching it for an XTR II 4-20. The 4-20 is much easier to look thru and does not have the scope shadow issues I had with the 5-25. The glass is decent but the scope has excellent tracking. the XTR II is a solid but affordable long-range comp optic, just find a reticle you like.

Surprising to me. I ran a FF on a 45-70 and buddy on a 300wm without any problems
Yep had 3 that were garbage. I bought 4 when they were on super sale. 2 on a 300WSM and 22-250 that didn't consistently adjust, and 1 on a 50cal muzzleloader that moved on its own (I replaced rings, bases and even changed loads thinking it could have been my fault). Those got tossed in the garbage.

The only one that survived has been on a Ruger 10/22 for a decade. The only reason it's not been removed is because I'm too cheap to invest money on that rifle right now.

Their higher end stuff isn't awful like many brands. You couldn't give me a lower end Burris Fullfield on anything other than a POS 22LR that I loan out.
I have nothing but appreciation and respect for the FullField line.
I had two that lived a tough life on top of a Tikka 300WSM and 7-08.
They never needed adjustment, were clear and bright...Exactly what you want from a scope.
I bought a Burris Veracity to run on my son's Tikka 300WSM and from all indications, it's a very good optic.

I have had the XTR lll illuminated 3.3-18x50 for a short time now but so far really like it. It seems very comparable to my NX8 as far as turrets and image quality which is surprising given the price point. I might actually give a slight edge to the Burris for image quality and the field of view is also excellent! I really like the NX8 but if the Burris holds up well I will be getting another over another NX8. My NX8 is the 4-32x50 fyi.
