Burned points Colorado 4th Rifle!

Going 4th rifle this year. Will be a change of pace from chasing bulls in September. Excited for something different though. What's an average shot you take on a muley late season in southwest CO?

Depends how good you can shoot. If you’re asking, probably the closer the better. Bucks will be distracted, just don’t spook the does

2024 my buck was 25yds, last year my doe was 115yds. Both hunts took less than an hour.

If you can, try to be competent out to 500. Most of mine and my buddies have been inside of that clustering closer to 200.

Average around 200, with a few killed quite a bit farther and many killed around 100 or less.

Depends on the area you are going to hunt. 4th season deer in SW Colorado you will probably be in the rut or just after. Weather can be dry or snow..... Be prepared for anything. @ years ago we had 3' on the ground in 3rd season. As everyone has mentioned, I have had shots from 25 yds to 250.
