This summer has been hell! When I retired, I felt now I can manage my life and time -- wrong.

This year I maintained my consulting; disced, seeded and harrowed my north field; put up 750 bales; rearranged
My barn and shop; finished my deck on the front of the house; cut, split and stacked 14 cords of fir and larch; rebuilt the plumbing and a new hot water tank for my winter hunting trailer; and started training a new filly.

I need to retire!! The hell with it. Tomorrow I am going to saw out one of my pack trails. I guess that is recreation.

Next I need to replace the furnace in my hunting trailer and shoe my horses. Then I quit for the year and hunt elk. I used to have more energy when I was younger.

You’re wood pile sounds amazing!

Sounds like you’ve been working your tail off. Keep it up, you’re crushing it!

Congratulations on your retirement!

Out of curiosity, how long does 14 cords of wood last you? I use wood as my primary heat source and burn on average 4.5 cords/yr.
