Bullet and charge recommendations?

Great- I’ll give it a shot thanks! You have any open sight or peep sight recommendations?

I just use the Williams western hunter peep with the globe sight in the front with the fine crosshair insert. It seems to work well enough.

Sabots worth looking at for NV?
Absolutely. If you can use saboted bullets, I would.

It’s a great idea to use a scope for load development and then take it off only when hunting in states where you have to use iron sights, like CO.

I’d shoot a lighter bullet for deer - 250-300gr. - unless you just like excessive recoil. For elk, 300+ is my recommendation.

As for open sights - yes, a good peep sight and a Williams Western Precision globe with the small (.019”) fiber optic insert is best, IMO. Fine crosshairs are worthless/unusable in low light or timber.

Williams Western Precision Standard or the micro adjustment? I don’t plan on shooting past 100 yards though I’m completely novice to muzzleloader so even that far may be unrealistic on animal in lowlight

I have the same rifle. I'm shooting the Williams Western Precision peep rear and globe front. Barnes 250 TMZ BT over 80grW of Triple 7 is where I ended up for a deer load.

The micro adjust sight just makes sighting in slightly easier. I’d use the standard. You’re not going to be dialing for elevation when hunting. 100 yards is totally doable - I’d shoot for being capable to 200 yards for western hunting.

Good to know- thanks gents. Going to give a shot at the Thor bullets- bought their sizing pack to see which fits best

Blackhorn 209 vs Triple 7 FFG
Clerinox CX 2000 primer vs Federal 209a

Any one have serious opinions- I’m leaning toward BH w/ Federal
