Easton da'torch 27" 100gr. point 50 gr brass insert 400 gr. @ 300+fps
I don't buy into that extreme foc.
I don't hunt with bowling pins.

Valkyrie 250 shaft at 25.625"
22 gr collar
250 Jagger
545 total w/fletch, wrap, and nock
21% FOC
Easy to broadhead tune, drives through critters like they aren't there.

That should take care of everything up through at least mid sized sedans. (y)(y)

Wish I would’ve taken this arrow to Africa. I took a 550 grain 19% FOC arrow that got complete pass throughs on everything including an Eland. I took a quartering away shot on a Gemsbok that didn’t pass through. Ended up having to finish it with a rifle.

I just received 3 test arrows from Brent at Valkyrie, 28.5 ctc, 250 VAP, 50 grain aluminum collar and 225 grain heads, haven't had much time to tune them yet but it's the system I'd like to end up with.

It's as though the internet doesn't realize people killed animals just fine before anyone thought about FOC. The best and most successful hunters I know don't know or care what their FOC is.

I also thought about Griz Stick, that new Alaskan head is sick.

The problem with using a lighter GPI arrow shaft, then throwing on a bunch of weight up front, makes for a much less durable arrow. I much prefer slimmer thick-walled arrows for their durability. Most all of those in my spines start around 11gpi and go up from there. You still get an overall decent weighing arrow and an arrow that can survive hard hits.

I have a friend who chased high FOC, wanted to keep his arrow close to 400 grs., and spent a bunch of time coming up with the right combination of components. He learned pretty quickly that fragmentation works better with bullets than with arrows.

But he had an FOC % that many internet posters would find really impressive....

My set up right now is:
BE Rampage 250 cut to 28" carbon to carbon
Firenock
120 grain Ethics outsert
150 grain VanDieman Single bevel
Fours Fletch Fusion Q2I II vanes
Overal about 635 grains and about 19-20% FOC.

Grizzlystiks are honestly over rated in my opinion. I fell for the "hype" and bought 18 of them and about 1/2 of the GS arrows I received had terrible run out on the nock end. Which meant I had to nock tune about 9-10 arrows. The biggest pain in the ass I have ever had. Not to mention the insert components that are sold with them are okay at best. I have had several break at the threads insider the shaft. So just a caution for anyone buying some GS arrows. In my opinions you can build a very tough arrow system with either Ethics components or a HIT system with a footer.

But next year I will be shooting Sirius Apollos. They are 10.68 grains per inch but are as thick as Easton Axis arrows (.280 for a 250 spine so the walls are .076" thick) . I know a few people that have shot them into AR500 with ethics components and it ends up being practically bomb proof.

Any feedback on the Sirius Apollos? I ordered a 3 pack to test. Should be around 565-590 with high FOC (depending on which broadhead I end up using). Hope to have them in a couple weeks.

I shot apollos with ethics last year. Total weight came out about 810. This was clearly a miss at about 50. I took a hatchet to the tree, got the arrow out and kept shooting it. I don’t have a huge sample size, but I like them.

I'm working on some Rampage 250s with Ethics system that will be just shy of 700gr, 23% FOC. May build some Apollos too before fall rolls around
