What are your thoughts on the three different bugles offered by Bugling Bulls (Select-a-bull, Bully Bull Extreme, and the original Bully Bull). I need to replace my bugle this year and am interested in everyone's thoughts and experiences. Can the Select-A-Bull be used without the mouth piece?

Interested in everyone's feedback as well. I was just about to pull the trigger on the Pack a Bull bugle when I saw this thread.

These are great tubes that provide exceptional resonating for mouth diaphragms...the new upgraded version sounds sweet

I watched the videos on the website and noticed that the extreme does not have the tone selector on the end but has a larger opening on the mouth end. Does the tone selector make that much difference. I primarily us mouth reeds and think the larger opening would be better.

Both are good and provide quality sounds, IMO the bully tube is just a step up for resonating that extra realistic sound

I have both the elknut tube and the bully extreme. IMO the extreme is a better tube with better quality, better camo cover, and a nicer mouth opening. The elknut tube is basically a whiffle bat cut up.

I too have both bugles mentioned & both perform very well in the elkwoods. Will you call in or locate more elk with one over the other, no you won't. With that said I give the edge in sound to the Bully Bull, I like it's tone a lot it has very nice smooth resonance, it comes from the thicker wall of plastic over the Chuckler EL. The Chuckler EL is louder & lighter at 5.2oz & the Bully Bull is 9oz & 3" longer so is a trade off to some extent. Both are fashioned after the whiffle bat design as are most bugles you will see in competition calling. It all comes down to what you want out of a bugle, many still use the 1-1/2" vacuum cleaner hose designs with great success. Rockie makes great products & the best reeds in the business in my opinion & they're what we use here, you can't go wrong with the Bully Bull tubes, they're excellent Bugles!

I have the bully bull and bully bull extreme I like them both I do like how the extreme has the bigger mouth opening though. Phelps also seems to make a good one plus his cow calls are awesome.

All I know is Rockie "called me in" at the NABA Show this year. Had a booth behind me, and ripped a bugle with the new Bully Bull tube...I couldn't help myself, I was drawn like a magnet to it. Never heard a call sound so good, but hey, he's Rockie ;)
