Show your ten round patched round ball groups

Because there's virtually no evidence of people's 100 yard shooting ability with patched round ball on the Internet, save the monthly postal matches that are usually 5 shots per target and 25-50 yards, I thought it would be fun to have that here. I'm guessing there won't be as many participants as the Tikka thread.

Show 10 round groups. 100 yards preferred, but 50 is fine if you're limited to it for whatever reason.

All shots count.

Any sight is fine, but state what type you're using.

Load specifics and gun may be interesting too.

Here's the only ones I currently have left saved. Not all 10 rounders. I often run out of patches or time before I get to 100 yards due to fiddling too much with loads etc. My goal this year is to just use 1 or 2 loads, quit screwing with zero and do more 100 yard 10 round shooting, and probably more field shooting too. The flintlock will be my main hunting gun this year after the blast I had using it last September.


Most recent. Only 5 shots. Ran out of time and patches. New barrel and first day at the range. 58 cal flintlock. 36" GM barrel. 570 Hornady ball and 0.020 minute man spit patch. 70gr 2f swiss. 1420fps. No wiping. Used a quick and dirty aperture rear and post front. 100yds.

I think most of my inaccuracy is flinching. Flintlock makes me flinch a ton.

Thanks for starting a new thread on this. A couple of mine from the old thread for those who didn't read it.

50yd offhand. Open sight. 13 shots total. Cast .395 ball, 56gr 3f swiss and .018" spit lubed ticking patch cut at the muzzle. CCI #11 magnum cap. No cleaning or swabbing between shots. Good consistent lighting and light breeze. 1.95" group.

100yds off cross sticks. Open sights. Cast .445" ball, .018" spit lubed pillow ticking patch cut at muzzle and 70gr 3f goex with Swiss 0b in the pan. No swabbing/cleaning.
Winter overcast day with wind that was 15mph gusting to 25mph. I held center on every shot. (8" horizontal vs 3" vertical spread)
