Agreed....you can get into Precip for less than $100 for jacket and pants if you shop around!!!

In fact going with precip pants this year!

Marmot Precip is quite capable. Make sure to get the full leg zip pants!

I have several pieces of Gore-Tex rain gear for hunting and it works well for days when it rains for a few hours at a time. Beyond this, I usually get damp or down-right wet. Over 10 years ago, I found a rip-stop nylon Eddie Bauer rain jacket that I slip on over my hunting jackets and it provides total protection from wet weather. I never found matching pants but the jacket has performed really well. I do have to keep it ventilated as it does not breathe very well. Maybe hard to believe, but I bought the jacket at Target.

I've had good luck this past year with a mountain hardware cirrocco(?) Jacket from rei.

Yep that is the reason I went with the precip pants in the first place...gotta be full zip for me!

How does the precip gear compare to the Cabelas space rain in weight and durability? I picked up some space rain this year and saved a pound on rain gear, but it's clear to me that durability is going to significantly suffer.
