Budget action

I've had an Origin for a few years now. Several hundred rounds through it.

Only issue is the bolt release is tricky. And the bolt throw is high.

I almost think to do it again I'd buy a Tikka or just spend a little more on the action or a different one with a shorter bolt throw.

Anyone buy a Weatherby 307? I looked at the rifle and the action looks slick. And they're like $800 for the action.

Shouldered no preference on carbon fiber or steel
I don’t know that they hold tolerances to do a shouldered prefit. PBB only does the barrel nut.

Thanks, i was looking around and found that mcgowen has shouldered prefit options, do you know much about them or anyone else on here have any opinions about their barrels?

You complain about the origin bolt throw. 307 is same. Similar bolt release. Pretty much every 90° rem700 clone with a side bolt release falls under you un-desirable traits.

Get a Tikka, some this 75° rem700 clone newness, or a 3 lug action.

Totally went a different direction and got a Kelbly Nanook. Only about a dozen or so shoots into the break in, but so far I like it.
