I just purchased a BTX with 65mm objective -- pretty excited to start using it. 2 questions that I was unable to find the answers to during my research:
(1) Is it likely that other companies could bring something similar to market? Or is it a patent issue?
(2) From an engineering perspective, would it be possible to create a variable zoom version of the BTX? What is the primary engineering challenge? Just keeping both sides in sync with the same zoom level? Surely this is a solvable problem?
